I started as a rock DJ who got out before radio became corporate controlled playlist-ism. Since then I've done everything I could to get "bigger ears." A constant intake of jazz, country, reggae, swing, skiffle, punk and has done the trick, but to my friends I'm considered a dyed-in-the-wool symphony junkie.
Still, I'm listening all the time.
I feel fortunate that I am doing what I've always wanted to do. (well after being a rock star and singing with The Rolling Stones) As far back as I can remember, the mixing of voice, music and sound effects whether for a radio production or supporting local and national theatre was never seen as work but pure fun. At PACSAT POST, I have the chance to practice my craft: creating radio commercials, mixing to picture for film, TV and DVD. Once in a while during the day, I catch myself thinking, "what a great job". All the different types of projects I get to work on. Truly, never a dull moment.
